Day 1: Travelling Day

At 17:20 (23:20 in the Netherlands) Janne and I landed in Toronto after a flight of about 8 and a half hours. It was a long flight but luckily Janne was there to keep me company :). My parents and all three brothers went to drop us off at Schiphol which was very nice. The goodbye was quite hard, but it helped that Janne was there and she knew exactly what to do and where to go. When we were finally in the plane I got very nervous but also very excited! I really could not wait to finally be in Canada after weeks of excitement. I thought it was really cool that while we were flying 13 km above the ground, the temperature dropped to -55 ⁰C. After we collected our luggage and a final passport check we could go see our family. My uncle Pieter and cousin Jane were waiting for us at the airport. We were both so happy to see them again. After a short drive we arrived at their house where my aunt Sam and cousin Thomas were waiting for us. Shortly after we arrived there we ate dinner (again), which I thought was kind a weird given the fact that it was almost 0:30 in the Netherlands. Later on in the evening we went for an ice cream at Ed's which was very tasty! After a very long day it was finally time to go to bed.
